scent strength
scent strength is such a personal thing - we formulate and rigorously test to ensure you get all the vibe and atmosphere of the scent and none of the headache. our 8oz candles are meant for medium-sized rooms, think tv rooms, bedrooms, offices, etc.. have tall ceilings or open plan rooms? we're working on a larger candle size - stay tuned and in the meantime grab two of the same, or complimentary candles and layer up!

candle care
James Street scented candles are small-batch, hand-poured candles. Although every effort is made to ensure consistency, each candle has been individually handcrafted and there may be some variances.
Trim your wick to a 1/4" to help prevent smoking and keep the burn pool clean. Before relighting your candle, ensure it has cooled and hardened completely before you trim your wick.
Our wax is a coconut apricot blend and the melt pool might not fully reach the edges of the jar on your first couple of burns. This is normal - as the flame gets lower in the glass it will heat the sides of the jar and any "hang up" will catch up.
Always ensure your wicks remain upright (they can lean in the soft melt pool).
Burn your candle for no more than 3-4 hours as you can over burn a candle.
Please discard your candle when there is 1/4-1/2" of wax remaining. We do not advise to continue burning your candle below this.
Please use common sense when burning your candle and keep away from drafty areas and flammable surfaces. Ensure you're burning your candle on a stable and heat resistant surface as the glass may become hot. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep out of direct sunlight, this prevents damage and discolouration to wax. If left in a cold space for long periods of time (like a basement) you want to bring it to a regular room temperature before burning to ensure it doesn't tunnel.
Salomé opens with a surprising carrot note and is followed by a sting of pimento/allspice, which gives the scent a spicy yet fresh feel. Then the real magic begins. Vanilla flower and vanilla bean teams up and creates a wonderful soft cloud of sensual goodness to fall into. Pleasant floral notes and smooth sandalwood brings the scent to a creamy and delicious finish. Salomé is safe and intriguing at the same time. Alluring, yet playful and innocent.
